Matej Huš- keynote speaker
Dr. Matej Huš
National Institute of Chemistry
Matej Huš is a researcher at the National Institute of Chemistry, where he leads the In Silico Catalysis Group within the Department of Catalysis and Chemical Reaction Engineering. His group focuses on the theoretical description and modeling of various types of catalysis. Recently, their research has concentrated on heterogeneous thermocatalysis and photocatalysis for industrially significant reactions, including CO₂ hydrogenation, methane activation, ammonia synthesis, and ethylene epoxidation. Using advanced theoretical tools across different levels of description, they predict and elucidate chemical reaction mechanisms. Dr. Huš has supervised multiple PhD students and leads several national and European research projects. He also teaches courses on chemical modeling at the University of Nova Gorica. His work has been recognized with several national and international awards. He has published over 70 scientific articles, authored hundreds of popular science articles, and written a book.
